Why can the medical examination from the breeder not be used for a pre-existing condition assessment?

When we undertake a pre-existing conditions assessment, we only take into account your pet’s medical history after you became their owner. This is the case whether you bought or adopted your pet. We don’t request medical information from to the time before you owned your pet, including any vet records from breeders or previous owners.

If you're requesting a pre-existing condition assessment, please only provide the vets’ details who has treated your pet after you became the owner. If you include vets’ details who has treated your pet before you became the owner, our assessment can be delayed.

Your pet needs at least one vet visit after you became the owner, before you can request a pre-existing condition assessment
