Routine care items, including vaccinations and annual health check-ups aren’t covered by Petsy Pet Insurance.
Regular check-ups and routine check-ups are predictable and something you can plan for. These are not covered so that we can keep premiums more affordable.
Our policy is designed to protect you from unexpected and significant costs. If your pet experiences an unexpected health crisis and you’re left with an expensive vet bill, Petsy Pet Insurance can help cover the costs. This includes diagnostics, procedures, and medications to treat your pet’s eligible injuries and illnesses.
Nonetheless, we do cover a list of vaccinatable diseases, as long as your pet is up to date with their vaccinations. If your pet contracts one of these diseases after being vaccinated, it's considered an unforeseen illness and therefore covered.
The vaccinatable diseases we cover for dogs include:
- Canine distemper virus (CDV)
- Canine adenovirus (CAV)
- Canine parvovirus (CPV-2)
- Parainfluenza virus (PI)
- Bordetella bronchiseptica (Bb)
- Leptospira interrogans
The vaccinatable diseases we cover for cats include:
- Feline parvovirus (FPV)
- Feline calicivirus (FCV)
- Feline herpesvirus (FHV-1)
- Feline leukaemia virus (FeLV)
- Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV)
- Chlamydia felis
