What if I don't know my pet's birthday?

If you're uncertain about your pet’s exact age or birthday, here's what you can do: 

When Getting a Quote: Whether you're just starting out or anticipating the arrival of a new puppy or kitten, providing an estimated date of birth or the expected birth date helps us offer an initial quote for your pet’s insurance coverage. Please note that these initial quotes are subject to change once the actual date of birth is confirmed. 

If your policy is already set up: If your policy is already active and you realise the date of birth listed for your pet is incorrect, please let us know so we can update it for you. Keep in mind, changing significant details like the month or year of birth can influence your premiums, as age is a key factor in calculating insurance costs. However, minor changes such as adjusting the day within the same month typically doesn’t affect the premium. 

Adopted or stray pets: If your furry friend has come from a shelter or for those previously stray pets, we understand estimating their age can be particularly challenging. A veterinary visit can be helpful as they’ll be able to provide a good estimation of age based on a physical examination and other health indicators.
